On May 15, nearly 50 Wills Group team members came together for a day of service at Melwood’s annual Corp Fest. The event focused on preparing Camp Accomplish for its upcoming 2025 summer season. Volunteers helped with repainting fences, gardening, clearing hiking trails, and recreation improvements. Each task supported a shared goal: creating an accessible and welcoming space for children of all abilities.
Wills Group partners with Melwood as part of our ongoing commitment to Reimagining Outdoor Spaces and supporting inclusive community projects. Through hands-on service and long-term investment, we help create places where communities can connect, grow, and thrive. We’re proud to support spaces that bring people together in meaningful ways.
About Camp Accomplish
Camp Accomplish is a fully inclusive summer camp in Nanjemoy, Maryland, serving children and teens ages 5 to 18 with and without disabilities. Operated by Melwood, the camp offers a wide range of programs designed to support personal growth, independence, and friendship in a supportive outdoor setting.
Each summer, campers participate in activities like swimming, horseback riding, arts and crafts, sports, and nature exploration. The camp is staffed by trained professionals who provide a safe, structured environment where every child is encouraged to participate fully, regardless of ability or background.
As one of Melwood’s longest-running programs, Camp Accomplish reflects a deep commitment to inclusion and accessibility. It’s a place where young people build confidence, develop new skills, and form lasting friendships.
The Day at Corp Fest 2025
Melwood’s annual Corp Fest brings together volunteers from across the region to help prepare Camp Accomplish for the summer ahead. This year, nearly 50 Wills Group team members spent the day at the Nanjemoy campus, contributing to a wide range of improvement projects.
Volunteers worked in teams to repaint fences, garden, clear hiking trails, and paint sidewalk games. These projects enhanced the grounds and created a safe and welcoming environment for campers. Energy and enthusiasm carried through the day as groups moved from one task to the next, all focused on getting Camp Accomplish ready for opening day.
Corp Fest gave Wills Group team members a chance to connect outside the office and work together toward a shared goal. It was an opportunity to strengthen teamwork while creating an inclusive, functional, and thoughtfully designed outdoor space that meets the needs of the community.
“Special thanks to Wills Group for their dedication and enthusiasm for helping expand opportunities for people with disabilities,” said Heather Sherman, Vice President of Fund Development at Melwood. “Your partnership means the world to Melwood and the people we serve.”
A Partnership Built on Inclusion and Impact
Wills Group’s partnership with Melwood is part of a broader commitment to community-building initiatives that transform outdoor spaces into vibrant, welcoming places for connection and belonging. Since 2023, Wills Group has provided grant funding and ongoing volunteer support to help strengthen Melwood’s impact, including an initial $100,000 commitment and comparable $100,000 grants for the past two years.
Our team has also supported special initiatives like Grow it, Make it, Eat it, a weeklong camp experience focused on food education and hands-on learning. These programs give campers opportunities to build life skills, gain confidence, and connect with others in an environment that encourages participation and discovery.
By investing time, resources, and hands-on support, Wills Group continues to help reimagine what’s possible for outdoor spaces across our region.
Turning Service Into Impact
Wills Group is proud to support partners like Melwood who are creating spaces where children of all abilities can learn, play, and thrive. Camp Accomplish reflects the kind of impact that’s possible when communities come together with care and purpose.
Through our signature Community Engagement programs — including our Reimagining Outdoor Spaces initiative — we invest in projects that nourish, reimagine, and advance local communities. Our team’s participation in Melwood’s Corp Fest is one example of how we put that commitment into action. We worked side by side to help create a space that empowers every child to feel included and supported.
We’re honored to have played a part, and look forward to continuing this important work in the years ahead.
