The Company also announces it was awarded the 2022 Washington Business Journal Corporate Philanthropy Award for its charitable work across the Mid-Atlantic region.

The Wills Group released their sixth annual Community Engagement Report today, Lives in Motion, highlighting their commitment to local communities across the Mid-Atlantic region and helping neighbors move toward their goals and dreams. The company announced in this year’s Report more than $875,108 in total grants and investments made to nonprofit partners and local organizations, resulting in more than $5 million donated by the company since 2006. These philanthropic dollars and hundreds of employee and community volunteer hours invested by the Wills Group and its family of companies, including Dash In, Splash In ECO Car Wash, and SMO Motor Fuels, have worked to further their two key Signature Programs: Nourishing Children and Families and Reimagining Outdoor Spaces – with a commitment to helping to ensure childhood food security and providing vibrant outdoor spaces for neighbors to play, rest, connect, create, and restore.

The company also shared in this year’s Report that it was recognized for its 2022 community engagement work by the Washington Business Journal, earning the Corporate Philanthropy in the Midsize Companies by Giving in Greater D.C. category for the second year in a row. Other Wills Group community engagement achievements celebrated include:

  • $875,108+ in total grants and investments
  • 50 grants distributed
  • 29 nonprofits supported
  • $103,473 raised through the Employee Match Campaign
  • $342,000+ raised at the Blackie Wills Golf Classic
  • 480+ total employee and community volunteer hours

“The premise behind our Community Engagement program – Lives in Motion – and why it’s the name of this year’s Report, is that we’re working to move communities one step closer to fulfilling their dreams,” said Wills Group President and COO, Blackie Wills. “For our nonprofit partners it’s a matter of, how can we provide the resources to help them deliver on their purpose, because in turn, by doing that, that’s keeping Lives in Motion. Whether it’s being able to put meals on the table for the food insecure, or providing that welcoming outdoor space for the community, it’s a little bit of inspiration that you’re taking one step closer to helping you reach your goals.”

The 2022 Community Engagement Report showcases the Wills Group’s focus throughout the year, highlighting the company’s approach to working closely with their nonprofit partners, community members and employees to provide the support and resources needed most.
