The Wills Group has just been awarded Great Place to Work® Certification for the second year in a row!

Great Place to Work recognizes companies with the best workplace cultures. When you see the red Great Place to Work banner next to a company’s name, you can be sure that they’ve created a unique environment where employees are put first.

Since first earning the award in 2022, the Wills Group and our family of businesses — Dash In, Splash In ECO Car Wash, and SMO Motor Fuels — have continued to build upon our strong employee experience. We pride ourselves on offering full and part-time employees a competitive benefits and perks, including:

  • An industry leading 401(k) plan with up to 7% match
  • Health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts, and paid life insurance
  • Health, dental and vision insurance options
  • Pet insurance
  • Parental and bonding leave up to 7 weeks
  • Hybrid work options
  • Up to 100% tuition reimbursement
  • Leadership programs and advancement opportunities
  • And more

Beyond the benefits and perks, the Wills Group has built a culture on community values and giving. Over the past several years, we’ve expanded our commitment to community engagement and have invited our staff to take part in these initiatives. We are humbled by the number of employees who have volunteered time, labor, and funds in support of bettering the lives of others.

In 2022 alone, the Wills Group and staff have revitalized a once-neglected public park in La Plata, Maryland,  volunteered at local food banks and hunger relief organizations, and helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for local charities.

Volunteering brings our employees together, builds camaraderie, and renews their sense of purpose because they can see the direct impact their work has on their communities.

2023 Great Place to Work Employee Results

To be considered for Great Place to Work® Certification, companies must demonstrate that their employees trust the leaders behind the helm and are highly satisfied with their jobs.

The results are collected through two Great Place To Work (GPTW) flagship assessments: the Trust Index® and a Culture Brief. The Trust Index surveys employees about their overall experience working at the Wills Group. The Culture Brief is an in-depth write-up about our work culture and our employees.

We are pleased to report that this year’s GPTW survey shows an 84% approval rating – a 2% increase over our 2022 score! This means that 84% of employees agree that the Wills Group is a great place to work. Considering the rating at a typical U.S. company is only 57%, the results are inspiring.

Here are some other top scores from the Wills Group survey:

  • 89% say our facilities help them work better
  • 89% felt welcome when they joined the company
  • 88% report being treated equitably, regardless of their position
  • 88% feel pride in their work accomplishments
  • 87% report honest and ethical leadership

At the Wills Group, we’re invested in giving our employees an exceptional experience. We’ve made great strides in recent years creating benefits, programs, and perks that enhance our employees’ lives both at home and at work. We’ve also strengthened our commitment to supporting equitable opportunities for all, providing leadership training and advancement opportunities for underrepresented staff.

We’re always reaching out to our employees for feedback about their experience. We know that keeping Lives in Motion for our customers across the Mid-Atlantic begins with our people thriving personally and professionally, and we’re committed to helping them reach their full potential.
