The Blackie Wills Golf Classic event raises funds for the Blackie Wills Community Leadership Fund in support of the Wills Group’s community engagement efforts to keep Lives in Motion

The Wills Group, a family-owned company headquartered in La Plata, Maryland, celebrated the success of its third annual Blackie Wills Golf Classic, an event created to support the Blackie Wills Community Leadership Fund.

This year’s Golf Classic, held on Monday, September 9, raised more than $345,000 in support of the Blackie Wills Community Leadership Fund. The Fund was formed in 2016 in honor of Julian Blacklock “Blackie” Wills, the third President and CEO of the Wills Group from 1961 to 1988, to carry on his commitment to community and civic engagement. The Fund provides local nonprofit organizations across the Mid-Atlantic region with the support they need throughout the year to serve individuals in need and move their lives forward – keeping Lives in Motion.

“Since the founding of the Blackie Wills Community Leadership Fund three years ago, we have raised more than $3 million to support the Wills Group’s commitment to community engagement,” said Lock Wills, Chairman, CEO and President of the Wills Group. “This year, we are proud to continue this great work that allows us to engage more partners and charitable organizations that share our mission.”
