This holiday season, the Wills Group has much to be thankful for. We celebrated our 96th year experiencing growth, challenges, and exciting opportunities for personal and business development.
Wills Group expanded our retail operations at five new locations across the Mid-Atlantic. In Delaware, we celebrated a new Dash In convenience store in Wilmington, and we opened a Dash In and Splash In Eco Car Wash in Newark. In Maryland, we celebrated grand openings of Dash Ins and Splash Ins in Pasadena, Laurel, and Waldorf. Each of these five grand openings welcomed the community with fun activities, giveaways, and grants to local organizations.
In addition to Dash In and Splash In expansions, our SMO Motor Fuels group expanded truck fuel operations with the acquisition of six MAPCO locations in Virginia. We’re excited to strengthen our footprint along the I-95 corridor and demonstrate our commitment to serving our new communities. The Wills Group cares for every community we serve. Our 2022 community engagement efforts were focused on our Signature Programs: Reimagining Outdoor Spaces, and Nourishing Children and Families. To support these efforts, our dedicated employees volunteered hundreds of hours to transform the neglected Phoenix Run Park in La Plata, Maryland into a vibrant and art-inspired recreational public space. We donated funds and time to various food pantries and charities across the Mid-Atlantic. And we raised more than $342,000 at our 6th Annual Blackie Wills Golf Classic to serve and support our communities through the Blackie Wills Community Leadership Fund.
It’s been a memorable year, filled with accomplishments and milestones. We are grateful to all of our partners, community members, and employees for their continued support.
