Brian started working for the Wills Group seasonally and part time as a Dispatcher in 1997. After three years, he progressed to management. “I think a lot of that growth was being in the right place at the right time and I was fortunate to ride the wave,” said Brian.
Brian then had an opportunity to move to a corporate position in Maintenance and Compliance that was created after the MOTIVA acquisition. Brian spent five years in this role, utilizing it as an opportunity to build and develop that position.
In 2008, Brian was promoted to Transport Manager, moving from managing processes to managing people.
“It was a big jump. I had a staff and was able to grow the team and just have some fun learning and thriving in a new position.
Throughout my career and time with the Wills Group, there have been a lot of opportunities for me to grow and develop my skills. The training and development opportunities here are very effective. If you feel like there is a need for something to be done, there’s an open door to communicate that to leadership, and the team in effect does a very good job of listening and providing the resources that are needed to be successful as individuals and an organization.
Working for the Wills Group has also helped me advance my education goals. The Wills Group provided me with tuition assistance to get my Bachelors of Science in Construction Management. That was big for me. It showed me that I had an employment partner that was willing to let me pursue my goals.”
