The Newark, Delaware community celebrated an all-new Dash In Convenience Store and Splash In ECO Car Wash at 668 Paper Mill Road August 25 and 26. The two-day Grand Opening celebration kicked off with the Wilmington Blue Rocks mascot, Rocky Bluewinkle, welcoming guests with the first 100 attendees receiving a pair of tickets to an upcoming game. Then, the talented Newark High School drumline rang in Dash In’s traditional quesadilla cheese pull ribbon-cutting. Attendees also had the opportunity to enter to win prizes including a $500 Shell gift card.

This grand opening event served as an opportunity for Dash In and Splash In team members to connect with the local community and express the company’s commitment to giving back. On August 25, Dash In presented a total of $6,500 in grants to the Food Bank of Delaware, Newark High School, and the Aetna Hose Hook and Ladder Fire Station. Dash In’s collective contributions made to the Food Bank of Delaware over the last couple of years have amounted to 1 million meals, with this latest grant continuing to support the food bank’s efforts to provide nutritional meals to children and their families. Grants provided to Newark High School will help provide necessary resources to students and teachers, and the grants given to Aetna Hose Hook and Ladder Fire will go toward additional safety equipment for the brave fire fighters of Newark, Delaware.

Dash In and Splash In and its parent company, the Wills Group, are working to keep local communities’ Lives in Motion by moving people toward their goals and dreams through two Signature Programs: Nourishing Children and Families and Reimaging Outdoor Spaces. According to the latest estimate from No Kid Hungry, as many as 9 million children live in “food insecure” homes. This means these households don’t have enough food for every family member to lead a healthy life. That is why Dash In has focused its efforts at the source, providing over $1 million to regional food banks and nonprofits since 2020. In Delaware alone, Dash In has helped serve 373 kids through Food Bank of Delaware’s year-long backpack program. To learn more about how the Wills Group, Dash In, and Splash In ECO Car Wash are keeping Lives in Motion, please visit: willsgroup.com/community.
